Presentations

I write and produce presentations for you to use. These may be for customers, for people attending conferences or exhibitions, or for your staff. They can be printed for use in meetings or as a leave-behind after a meeting, or for use in a live slideshow.

A presentation has 2 goals -

  • to communicate something new to your audience
  • to prompt them to act

It has to tell the audience something they didn’t know, or change the way they think about something. As a consequence of seeing the presentation, you’ll want them to get in touch with you or decide to buy.

Performance

You'll only succeed with your presentation if engages your audience. And to do that, it has to be properly structured - it needs a start, middle and end. It needs to establish your key points. It has to be memorable. And it your audience is to stay with you, it has be entertaining - not 'laugh out loud' entertaining, but enough to work. And it has to have a backbone running through it, to keep everything in shape.

A properly-structured, well-written presentation is so much easier to work with. So if you're not the most confident presenter, it will make life easier and your presentations more effective.

PowerPoint - knowing how to use it

I know how to use PowerPoint to get your message across, avoiding the many pitfalls that PowerPoint contains.  It’s a great tool if you know how to use it – that means keeping your message structured and simple, with the right amount of imagery in the right place.

I can also work in Keynote for Mac users.
